Short Description:

The Foundation was created in 1973 from the union of two elements: the first being Lelio Basso's personal library, books which he had carefully collected during the fascist periodo and the war years, The second element was the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Society. The library has the function of sustaining the public cultural institutions. The research institute joins scholars from different scientific fields.
