Short Description:

The interdisciplinary project with partners from 8 European countries aims at exploring the interrelation between socio-cultural conditions and ethical and legal arguments of medical research and practise. The interactions and interdependencies between medicine and culture is analyzed comparatively considering organ transplantation and postnatal genetic testing as examples. The Research Group Bioethics and Science Communication at the Max-Delbrueck-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) Berlin-Buch was partner and coordinator (Dr. christof Tannert) of the project in 2004/2005.
