The project analysed and developed the societal discourse on biomedicine. Two main aspects formed the centre piece of the work: (1) The ethical questions that arise in the context of biomedical research and (2) communication on risks and benefits associated with biomedicine. Central to the discussions have been: cloning, the creation and use of embryonic stem cells, gene therapy as well as the changing notion of disease and illness. The whole project consisted of 5 Sub-Projects:
1.)International Congress "Biopolitics and Regenerative Medicine - Pros and Cons"
2.) Citizen´s Conference and Vote
3.) Delphi-Study
4.) Online Conference on the social and ethical aspects of stem cell research
5.) Scenario Workshop.
